D1 Grand Prix 2006 D1 Grand Prix Season Opener? January 4th, 2006 IRVINE, CA – D1 Grand Prix will be hosting the official 2006 season opener at the Irwindale Speedway on March 4th. This event will start off the D1 point series match of 2006 with all the D1 licensed drivers from Japan and North America.   “ It’s the beginning of another exciting year for the sport of drifting” said Daijiro Inada, Founder of D1 Grand Prix, “This March D1 Grand Prix season opener will be yet another fierce competition for a spot on the ladder. Please do your best everyone!”   At the Dec. USA vs. JPN exhibition match, JR Gittin of Drift Alliance took the win by knocking out Kazama, Imamura, Kawabata and Sakuma. Gittin has set the history book as the first US driver to take the win in an exhibition match against the top Japanese drivers.  In this past exhibition match, it clearly shows the level of drivers on this side of the globe has improved dramatically and the level of competition will be intensified in the upcoming season opener.   However, this March’s D1 Grand Prix season opener will be a point series match and will any of the US drivers be able to make it to the top “One More Time?”………….   Please Visit www.D1GP.com for updated news and information about the up coming event.
